Radiate Knowledge - A Dive into Radiochemistry

Synopsis

This training provides a general introduction to anyone interested in radiochemistry. At the end of the training, attendees will have a generalized understanding of radiochemical principles and workflows, providing context for laboratory practices for all levels of experience throughout the environmental testing field.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe basic principles of radioactivity (decay modes, half-life, units).
  • Distinguish radiochemical analysis from traditional chemical methods.
  • Recognize common radiochemical sample preparation and separation techniques.
  • Identify major radiation detection methods and their applications.
  • Understand contamination control and radiochemistry-specific lab practices.
  • Summarize key data quality concepts (counting statistics, detection limits, QC).
  • Develop a general understanding of radiochemical methodologies for effective collaboration.

Fees

$135 for TNI members
$170 for non members

Group rates are available: Each purchased training course is to be viewed by only one student. If you would like multiple viewers, separate purchases must be made. A group rate of $810 for TNI members or $990 for non-members is available for groups of 6-10 students at a single location.

Certificates: A Certificate of Attendance (CoA) is provided for this training. A Certificate of Completion (CoC) may be purchased for an additional $25. A passing score of at least 70% must be received on the exam in order to receive CEUs and a CoC. Scores of less than 70% will be issued a CoA. For a CoA you will not need to take the quiz and you will not receive CEUs. See FAQs for additional information.
