Field Sampling and Measurements: Ensuring Reliable Results

Synopsis

Field sampling and measurements are critical components in ensuring the overall quality and reliability of environmental data. The reliability begins with how samples are collected, handled, and measured in the field. A comprehensive framework to address these critical aspects is provided in TNI Field Sampling and Measurement Organization (FSMO) Standard.

This course will discuss key components and implementation concepts of the new TNI FSMO Volume 1 Standard that include:

  • Quality management systems specific to field operations
  • Strategic planning for field activities
  • Technical requirements for sampling and measurement
  • Documentation and record-keeping
  • Ensuring traceability and reproducibility of data

By aligning with the TNI FSMO Standard, organizations can demonstrate their commitment to quality field data, improve operational consistency, and enhance the credibility of their results with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.

Learning Objectives

  • Gain an understanding of the framework of Volume 1 of the TNI FSMO Standard.
  • Comprehend quality and data objectives for field activities.
  • Gain an understanding of a number of key elements of a management system for field sampling and measurement operations.
